KIER is proud to celebrate the completion of Phase II of the Granary Campus, The Journeyman Apartments, a key addition to Salt Lake City’s rapidly evolving Granary District.
The Journeyman introduces 184 luxury apartment homes with a mix of one- and two-bedroom layouts, along with amenities including a pool and spa, fitness area, and inviting shared spaces. The ground floor brings added energy to the neighborhood with retail, a leasing office, and structured parking, continuing to support the district’s growth as a vibrant, mixed-use community.
This project builds on the success of the original Granary Campus, completed by KIER in 2022 in partnership with Lake Union Partners. That phase transformed a collection of historic warehouse buildings, once part of the Salt Lake Rapid Transit system, into a 107,000-square-foot destination that blends retail, hospitality, recreation, and culture. The campus now includes a boutique hotel, indoor skatepark, climbing facility, retail shops, and community spaces, helping redefine the Granary District while preserving its industrial character.
Together, these projects reflect a thoughtful balance of preservation and new development, honoring the area’s history while creating spaces designed for how people live, gather, and connect today.
The Journeyman also highlights the value of strong partnerships. This marks our fourth collaboration with Lake Union Partners and third with MVE + Partners, Inc., relationships built on trust and a shared commitment to delivering impactful projects.
