Celebrating 50 Years of Dedication: Honoring Margo Culwell

July 9, 1975 — it was a Wednesday. The moon was in its “new moon” phase, Jaws had just taken the #1 spot at the box office, and Love Will Keep Us Together by The Captain & Tennille topped the charts. That same day, comedian Jack Black was born — and so was a KIER legacy.

On that summer day in 1975, Margo Culwell joined James Kier as a “Construction Accountant” for his growing company, which at the time operated out of a small residential four-plex in Washington Terrace.

Over the next five decades, Margo’s journey became deeply woven into the fabric of KIER Construction. She has worn many hats throughout the years — Office Manager, Operations Manager, Controller, Director of Human Resources, and now Payroll and Benefits Manager — each role performed with dedication, integrity, and heart.

Those who have worked with Margo know that her commitment goes far beyond her job description. She is the kind of person who is always willing to help, always ready to listen, and always quick to share a laugh. Her compassion, insight, and understanding of the business have made her an invaluable member of the KIER team and a cherished friend to so many.

As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we honor Margo’s 50 years of service, leadership, and loyalty to KIER Construction. Here’s to half a century of excellence — and to the lasting impact one extraordinary person can have on a company, its people, and its culture.

Congratulations, Margo, on 50 incredible years!
