Project Overview
Originally built in 1982, the California Square I apartments, home to seniors and people with disabilities, were in desparate need of transformation. The $6 million rehab began when Western Region Nonprofit Housing purchased the project using tax credit funds. Today residents enjoy updated exterior amenities including new windows, balconies, storefront entrance, carports, and a perimeter security fence. Interior upgrades include energy star level appliances and light fixtures, green labeled flooring, water saving plumbing fixtures, fresh paint, new cupboards and countertops, new doors, furnished common areas, new plumbing and mechanical systems, and security cameras throughout the premises.
