Breaking Ground in Moab: The Cooperative 1581 Takes Shape

Construction is officially underway at The Cooperative 1581, a new residential community bringing much-needed attainable housing to Moab, Utah.

Phase 1 will deliver 144 thoughtfully designed units for households earning at or below 80% of the Area Median Income, helping address the growing demand for quality housing in the region.

Developed by 22 Communities and designed by 22 Design Lab, The Cooperative 1581 reflects a shared commitment to creating housing that is both accessible and intentionally designed for modern living. The project prioritizes connection, functionality, and long-term livability.

Residents will enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor amenities, including a community BBQ area, fire pit, children’s playground, and pickleball court. Additional features such as indoor bike and pet wash stations support active lifestyles and everyday convenience.

KIER Construction is proud to partner on this project, helping bring a community-focused vision to life in one of Utah’s most unique and growing regions.

As Moab continues to evolve, The Cooperative 1581 represents an important step toward providing housing solutions that meet the needs of local residents while enhancing the overall community.
