KIER Construction is proud to celebrate the grand reopening of New City Plaza, a transformative residential community designed to serve Salt Lake City’s senior population with safe, accessible, and deeply affordable housing.
The project includes two towers—one seven stories and the other sixteen stories—with a total of 299 residential units. A newly constructed 3,176-square-foot addition now connects the two towers, providing improved accessibility and a renewed sense of community within the building.
New City Plaza is specifically designed for seniors and qualifies as “deeply affordable” housing, meaning it serves individuals and families earning 59% or less of the area median income, with priority given to those earning under 30%. This focus ensures that some of the city’s most vulnerable residents have access to stable, high-quality housing in the heart of downtown.
The journey to this “New City” has been a long and steep climb—one that required teamwork, resilience, and dedication from everyone involved. Today, with the completion of this significant redevelopment, the proverbial “KIER is Finished” flag has proudly been raised.
KIER Construction is honored to have played a role in this project and grateful for the opportunity to help create spaces that foster security, dignity, and community for Salt Lake City’s seniors.
