Supporting Education Through the Ogden School Foundation

At KIER, we are proud to support education in our community. One way we do this is by donating to the Ogden School Foundation’s Fall Author Event, the organization’s largest fundraising event of the year.

The Fall Author Event has become one of the most highly attended gatherings in our community, drawing more than 1,000 supporters to a public gala featuring a presentation by a renowned author. Beyond the celebration, this fundraiser provides critical funding for educational programs while also inspiring students with unique opportunities to meet and learn from world-class authors.

Each year, the event includes a student writing contest based on the visiting author’s work and a special school assembly, giving students across the district the chance to connect directly with the author. These experiences bring literature to life and encourage young writers to explore their own creativity.

This year’s guest was Sy Montgomery, a nationally bestselling author, filmmaker, and naturalist whose adventures have taken her across the globe—from tracking snow leopards in Mongolia to swimming with pink dolphins in the Amazon. Her award-winning works include The Good Good PigSpell of the TigerHow to Be a Good Creature, and The Soul of the Octopus, a National Book Award finalist that inspired the recent streaming series Secrets of the Octopus.

We are honored to contribute to such an impactful event and proud to stand with the Ogden School Foundation in their mission to enrich educational opportunities for students. At KIER, we believe supporting education helps build a stronger future for our entire community.
