Colony b is a 5-story affordable housing apartment community with 140 micro and one bedroom units. The building offers a leasing office, bike repair and storage, as well as in-house laundry facilities located on two different levels of the project. Each level has amenity spaces for residents to enjoy, including hang-out/gaming areas, full kitchens and a gym. The project has incredible views of the Wasatch Mountains and the downtown skyline.
The exterior consists of EIFS, wood, thin brick and horizontal cement board siding. Shrouds at each window have been added to help minimize the solar heat gain through the glass. Each unit has a high efficiency wall mounted mini split system, that provides the heating and cooling for the spaces. The common areas are also heated and cooled with the same type of system. The building is 100% run by electricity, reducing the dependency on fossil fuels.
