Project Overview
n the fall of 2007, Kier Construction was selected as design builder to carry out a seismic upgrade and interior redesign of the historical Ogden City Station #5. This design build team completed the seismic design within budget in two weeks. The seismic upgrade involved raising a section of this building 5” that had settled over the years. During the seismic upgrade process, our team working closely with the Ogden Fire Chief, Mike Matheiu, and the Ogden City Facilities Manager, Richard Brookins, developed the interior redesign. Through careful budgeting and effective value engineering, the final design was accomplished within Ogden City’s budget.
This project received the 2008 Associated Builders and Contractors “Excellence in Contruction” award for renovation of a non-historical existing building – under $2 million.
