Project Overview
The Kelly Benson Apartments is a new permanent supportive housing community for people overcoming homelessness. Located in West Valley City, the apartments are named after Kelly Benson, a leading community advocate for the housing rights of low-income individuals with mental illness.
The two story, 52,324 square foot building resembles luxury condominiums when viewed from the street. It consists of 6-studio, 38 one-bedroom, 10 two-bedroom and 4 ADA units. Amenities include full service kitchens, full baths and basic furniture, as well as a recreation room and two lounge areas complete with furnishings and a fireplace. The Housing Authority of Salt Lake County awarded the $5 million facility to KIER Construction based on past experience and performance with this type of facility.
