Brent joined KIER Construction as Vice President of Finance in August 2013. In this role he provides executives with timely and accurate financial statements, prepares budgets and monitors job costs, oversees the accounting and finance operations, as well as design and maintenance of the financial reporting structures.
Brent graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Utah University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration. Brent has over twenty six years of experience in the construction field. He began his career in a public accounting firm that specialized in Construction and Contractors. During his eleven years with the firm he worked his way up from staff accountant to a partner and was responsible for much of the firm’s on site audit and accounting direct supervision. He also assisted clients in financial statement presentations, income tax planning and general management. He later moved on to controller and CFO positions at two other construction companies before joining the KIER team.
Brent has participated in several associations over the years and has served as Treasurer and a board member of the Associated Builders and Contractors- Utah Chapter, as well as Treasurer for the Utah Association of Health Underwriters.
Born and raised in Vernal, Utah, Brent currently resides in Liberty, Utah with his wife Joyce and one of his four children. He enjoys outdoor activities, hiking, riding motorcycles, spending time with the family and reading good books.
