Each year Associated Builders and Contractors of Utah recognizes outstanding projects built by contractor members. Awards are given in a variety of categories that honor quality of workmanship, problem solving, and safety protocol. KIER is pleased to be the recipient of two awards for projects completed during 2013.

The first award was received for the Birkhill Apartments Phase I in Murray, Utah. This upscale, eco-friendly, transit-oriented apartment community was developed by Parley’s Partners and designed by KTGY Architecture and Planning. Birkhill won top honors in the “Commercial Multifamily over $10 Million” category. The master-planned development is environmentally-sensitive and transforms a former brownfield infill site into a high density, high quality residential community.

The second award was claimed by the Lotus Apartments in downtown Salt Lake City. This remarkable building represents todays building trends and adds a new urban pulse to Salt Lake’s historic South Temple Street. Designed by Tuttle and Associates and developed by Lotus Equities, the Lotus took first place in the “Commercial Multifamily $2 – $10 Million” category. The Lotus has a timeless beauty with many architectural details that really set this project apart from other apartments.

Congratulations to the Lotus and Birkhill project teams!
